Monthly Shopping Spree at for Members of


THE CONTEST (the “Contest”):

The Contest is sponsored by the Royal Canadian Mint (the “RCM”). The RCM is the Contest sponsor (the “Sponsor”) and Vision Critical is the administrator (the “Adminstrator”).The Contest commences at 12:01:01 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (“ET”) on January 1, 2018 and ends at 11:59:59p.m. ET December 31, 2018 (“Contest Period)”.

The Contest is a random draw for two prizes of a two hundred and fifty dollar CAD ($250.00) shopping spree on The RCM will select two names by random draw each month for a total 12 draws and 24 winners during the Contest Period.


The Contest is open to Canadian residents who have reached the age of majority in their province/territory of residence and who are registered members of the CoinTalk community at on the date of the draw.

Employees, agents and representatives of the RCM and its advertising and promotional agencies, persons with whom any of the aforementioned are domiciled, and members of the immediate family of the aforementioned are not eligible to enter the Contest. For the purposes of these Official Rules, “immediate family” includes a spouse (legal or common law/civil union), parent, child, grandparent, grandchild or sibling.

On or about the last Friday of each month, or the earliest prior business day if the Friday is a holiday, and on behalf of the RCM, Vision Critical will make a random draw from all eligible entries and select two names of potential winners. The chances of winning are approximately 1 in 5000 but depend on the number of eligible participants at the time of the draw. On behalf of the RCM, Vision Critical will contact the persons whose names were drawn by email, within fifteen (15) business days of the draw date.


Within five (5) calendar days of being contacted by Vision Critical via email, the selected entrants must respond to Vision Critical. Before being declared a winner the selected entrants must correctly answer unaided a time limited mathematical skill testing question.

The selected entrants must also sign and return to Vision Critical, within the same five (5) calendar days of receipt, a web-based Contest Prize Acceptance Form including a Contest Prize Declaration and Release Form, releasing RCM and its designated agencies from any liability resulting from participation in the Contest.

If a selected entrant fails to complete, and return the web-based Prize Acceptance Form to Vision Critical within five (5) calendar days, the RCM, as Sponsor reserves the right to void that entry and have Vision Critical as Administrator select another eligible entrant for that Prize, and continue to do so for up to two (2) re-draws until a winner is determined.

In the event that a winner is not determined after three (3) total attempts to contact selected entrants (1 initial and 2 alternate/re-draws), Vision Critical as Administrator may elect not to conduct any further redraws and not award such Prize.

If Vision Critical is unable to reach the selected participant within five (5) calendar days from when they initially attempted to contact the participant, or the selected participant fails to correctly answer a skill testing question, or to sign the release, the selected participant will be disqualified and the Vision Critical will select another participant for a chance to win through a random draw.

Vision Critical will contact only those persons whose names are drawn, who have provided their name, contact telephone number and email address whose entry complies with these Official Rules.

Once the selected participants have complied with these rules and are declared the winners, the RCM will contact them by phone to process the shopping sprees. Each shopping spree is for products in stock on at the time the winning participants are selected and must be ordered from the Royal Canadian Mint by phone.


All of the RCM’s decisions concerning the Contest are final and binding. The RCM reserves the right, at its sole discretion and without notice, to cancel, suspend and/or modify the Contest in whole or in part at any time and for any reason, including without limitation: if events beyond the RCM’s reasonable control make continuation not feasible; if the integrity of the Contest is impaired, for reasons such as the loss or destruction of entries; or if a virus, bug, or computer, electronic or system malfunction, human error or other cause beyond RCM’s control should corrupt the administration, security or proper and fair play of the Contest.

The RCM reserves the right to cancel or modify the Contest or the Official Rules at the end of any month without notice, after the prizes for that month have been awarded. Any change in will be reflected in new contest rules.

The RCM is not responsible for technical or human errors in the administration of the Contest. The RCM does not warrant that access to or use of the contest website will be uninterrupted or error-free.

The RCM further reserves the right to disqualify any entry which, in the RCM’s opinion, does not comply with these Official Rules.

The RCM, its officers, directors, employees, agents, promotional agencies, venue owners, event or and website and marketing suppliers (the “Released Parties”) assume no liability for any loss, damage or injury arising in connection with the Contest or the awarding or use of the prizes, including without limitation, any loss, damage or injury arising from any human or computer-generated or other technical error or problem in the administration of the Contest if the prize is unavailable for any reason or its awarding is delayed. The Released Parties make no warranty, guarantee or representation of any kind concerning the prize and disclaim any implied warranties. Entrants agree to: (1) comply with these Official Rules; (2) forever release and hold harmless the Released Parties from any and all liability, actions, causes of action, claims, recourses, costs and payments for damages, losses, injury, or death, however occurring, arising out of or relating to the entrant’s participation in the Contest or acceptance, use or misuse of the prize; (3) indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from and against any and all claims, expenses and liabilities arising out of or relating to the entrant’s participation in the Contest or acceptance, use or misuse of a prize.


The RCM is subject to the Privacy Act, R.S.C., 1985, c. P-21. As such, all personal information, such as name and contact information, required to enter the Contest is collected by the RCM solely for the following purposes:

    - administering the draws, awarding the prizes including contacting the entrant.

Personal information shall not be used for any other purpose without the entrant’s express consent. By providing this information, the entrant consents to it being used for the stated purposes. Personal information will be used in accordance with the RCM’s Privacy Policy found at:
